Hey Fashionistas !
I'm so glad that the SUN is finally coming out more often. I've recently did a little shopping on 5th avenue and I was so sad because here it is MAY, there's ADORABLE swimsuits and dresses on the racks yet it's 50 degrees and I was wearing a JACKET. I picked up a few pieces here and there but didn't couldn't get everything that I wanted because of this SKETCHY NEW YORK CITY WEATHER !
But, THERE'S TWO THINGS THAT I WILL BE WEARING ALL SUMMER BECAUSE I HAVE FELL IN LOVE !!
The FIRST is COLOR BLOCKING.
Color Blocking is when a GARMENT or OUTFIT is composed of FINITE blocks of color. It became a TREND in the 1960s, again in the 1980s and has RETURNED this past SPRING. When I first saw people on the streets of NEW YORK wearing BOLD AND BRIGHT colors that didn't even MATCH, I was afreaid that everyone had gone CRAZY! But, I quickly caught on and noticed this TREND way before I educated myself on the logisitcs. It doesn't work if you don't like ATTENTION and if you don't like to take FASHION RISKS. I personally has NEVER tried it MYSELF but have purchased items to contribute to me joining the GREAT FASHION TREND OF COLOR BLOCKING and will posting the looks I come up with.
The Second is MAXI DRESSES.
A Maxi Dress is a FLOOR or ANKLE length informal dress that is usually more form fitting on the top and loose on the bottom. I fell in LOVE with these dresses LAST year so much so that I wore a gray one for my BIRTHDAY last Summer in Disney World. It's very classy, lady-like, and makes you cool in the summer without showing EVERYTHING. I'm a SIX INCH HEEL Addict but I love to pair the Maxi Dress with a cute flat sandal and a comfy should bag because the dress typically has NO pockets. So far, I've purchased a few from H&M , Forever 21, BeBe and Joe Fresh but haven't wore any yet so LOOK FORWARD TO MY FUTURE BLOGS ON THIS SUPER SEXY TREND.
