Hey Dolls & Gents:
Another Day, Another Pos! Today, I am going to be letting you in on one of my favorite guilty pleasures: COCKTAILS! Pretty, Fruity & Fun Cocktails, that's perfect for a wine down and matches your nails in a Selfie. Hehehe...
Ladies Love Cocktails! So, I'm showing you the perfect cocktails for this season we're in, SPRING!
1. Strawberry & Fennel
Pink & Fruity: This cocktail is such a pretty spring-looking drink, I can only imagine that it tastes as good as it looks.
Ingredients
2-3 fresh strawberries
1 oz. Combier orange liqueur
1 oz. Galliano
2-3 small slices fennel
1 ½ oz. Vodka
½ oz. Lime juice
½ oz. Agave nectar
Splash champagne
Preparation
Cut two to three fresh strawberries in half and flambé them in one ounce of Combier (orange liqueur) and one ounce of Galiano liqueur. In a shaker, muddle fennel. Add cooked strawberries and muddle a second time. Add vodka, lime juice, and agave nectar. Shake over ice and pour into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Top with a splash of Champagne.
2.Kings County Sour
This is a play on a classic New York sour but uses rye instead of bourbon for a bit more spice and port wine instead of red table wine for a touch more depth—just like Brooklyn itself.
1/2 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 egg white
2 ounces rye whiskey
Splash of club soda
Splash of port wine
Orange twist
Brandied cherry
Shake together the simple syrup, lemon juice, egg white, and rye with ice. Strain into a chilled old-fashioned glass. Top with a splash of club soda and float the port on top. Garnish with an orange twist and brandied cherry.
3. The Saint
A summery twist on the classic Brown Derby.
1 1/2 oz. bourbon
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz. ginger syrup
1/2 oz. Lillet Blanc
1/2 oz. grapefruit liqueur (Grill uses Giffard’s)
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: coupe
Combine ingredients and shake with ice. Strain and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
3. Orquidia
Such a Beautiful Floral Drink, Quite Similar to Spring, Orchids have symbolized love, fertility, and luxury.
½ oz. Dainzu Ginger Elderflower Essence
1 ½ oz. Fresh pink grapefruit juice
1 ½ oz. Gin
1 ½ oz. Brut Champagne
Splash fresh lime juice
1 purple orchid, torn
Preparation
Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass, except the Champagne. Add ice, shake and then add the champagne into the tin. Pour contents into a highball glass and garnish with a whole orchid.
5. Kentucky Daquiri
Perfectly ripe strawberries bring sweet and tart elements to this southern-inspired cocktail. Lemon juice and ginger beer add plenty of zing and a bit of honey syrup ties it all together.
2 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. honey syrup (1:1 honey and water)
2 small strawberries
ginger beer
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: Collins
Garnish: lemon wheel, strawberry
Muddle the strawberries and lemon juice in a shaker tin. Add the whiskey and honey syrup. Shake and double strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish.
