My DreamDry Salon Review

Hey Dolls & Guys!

As Many Of You May Know, I Reside in the Beautiful MANHATTAN... The borough filled with Restaurants, Hotels & Plenty of Tourists! There's also many salons here but they're PRICEY! Too Pricey for me so I have to travel to other boroughs just to get a good blowout, Mani & Pedi. Earlier this week, I decided that I didn't want to travel to be pampered. It's not fun and it's more of a headache than a relaxing day. With this feeling, I decided to pamper myself in the city.

DreamDry Salon has a great reputation so I was excited when I saw a brand new location near Columbus Circle. Since the opening until now, I'd pass it many times a week as it's in my neighborhood but never took the chance to make an appointment. My hesitation occurred because I am African American and I have natural hair so I wasn't sure that the stylists were knowledgeable of how to properly deal with Natural Hair as MANY salons, especially in Manhattan, aren't.

Well, I decided to read reviews on Yelp & all of the other reviews from Natural-Haired Black Women raved about Rosi who was a stylist at the DreamDry 57th Street location. So, BOOM! Problem Solved. I'll call and book an appointment with Rosi. Unfortunately, Rosi no longer works there and I had to trust the Front Desk when I asked who is good with Natural Hair. She appointed me the next Morning with Kristina.

When walking in (5 mins late and informing them by phone call), I was greeted by the Receptionist as she was multi-tasked my attention and the attention of the client on the phone very well. I sat for no longer than 2 minutes before Kristina approached me, introduced herself and led me to her station. I was pleased to see such DIVERSITY amongst the stylists, receptionists and clients. I didn't feel uncomfortable or Out Of Place. Kristina (who was African American, BYW) consulted a bit as I told her what I wanted. Mind You, The salon was CLEAN, STYLISH AND THE MUSIC PLAYLIST WAS "BEYONCE" which made me extra happy. The washing stations were SUPER comfortable as I enjoyed the wash and scalp massage. Kristina then asked my drink of preference and informed me that the ipod on the station was for me to view magazines on, How Cute! While Blowdrying my hair, We had a great conversation about Natural Hair and How to Maintain It. It was great to have a stylist that was relatable. I was pleased with the outcome! Better than the Dominican Salons I've been attending lately... ALL FOR $40 which is unbeatable.

It was GREAT & I WAS PLEASED So much that I'll be making another appointment at DreamDry with Ms. Kristina!
